PETER HOOK vs. NEW ORDER

Peter Hook V.S. New Order

New Order, la legendaria banda de Manchester, está programada para participar en dos conciertos a beneficio el 17 y 18 de octubre en Bruselas y París, y decidieron hacerlo sin invitar a Peter Hook, ex bajista de New Order y Joy Division.

Esta será la primera vez que New Order pise escenarios desde 2006 e incluirá en el line-up, además de Bernard Sumner y Stephen Morris, a la ex teclista Gillian Gilbert, ausente desde 2001, con quien el Sumner formó The Other Two; al guitarrista Phil Cunningham y a Tom Chapman, bajista de Bad Liutenant, el proyecto paralelo de Sumner.

Nada contentos con la actitud de Peter Hook hacia New Order, (el resto de la banda le reprocha a su ex bajista lo que ha estado haciendo por el mundo), partiendo desde que por idea suya New Order se separara, cuando el resto de los integrantes todavía querían continuar. O bien, atreverse a tocar en sus conciertos discos enteros de Joy Division – el Unknown Pleasures y el Closer – , y por si esto no fuera suficiente, recientemente Hook grabó, junto con su nuevo grupo, The Light el tema "Pitcures of My Mind" de Joy Division, que había quedado inconcluso por el suicidio de Ian Curtis. El regreso de New order no incluye a Peter Hook y los verdaderos fans de New order y Joy Dvision saben que las razones sobran.

A los pocos días que se anunciaran los shows de New Order en Europa, Peter Hook publicó en su sitio web esta nota:

“I first I heard about this on Monday and it has taken me completely by surprise! Everyone knows that NEW ORDER without PETER HOOK is like QUEEN without FREDDIEMERCURY, U2 without THE EDGE, SOOTY without SWEEP! On a more serious note, I do not understand the decision THE OTHER THREE have taken. I wish they had approached me first.
